Last update February 16 2013.

It has been a while since we updated our site. Much has happened in the last months. We flew back and forward between Aruba and the Netherlands. In the Netherlands we found a winter wonderland with a lot of snow. It was freezing cold, we celebrated the holidays with our families. It was the last one for my mother, she died in the beginning of January. She lost her battle against cancer.

Now we're back in sunny Aruba where our boat JoHo waited patiently for us. A few months of no maintenance has not done our boat any good. We started right away with cleaning the bottom and the cockpit. Inside the boat we cleaned bit by bit and sorted things out. Also the technical condition of our boat was checked, we made small improvements and replaced some parts. JoHo looks a bit better again.
Now it's waiting for a good weather window, but the internet together with local obligations already show that we have to wait until the end of February. Hopefully the wind will slowly turn to East/Southeast so we can sail towards Puerto Rico or maybe even straight to Sint Maarten. For Sint Maarten we need Southeast wind and a good current (I write this to the above, so they know... :-).
For the non sailors among us, you cannot always sail directly to your end destination. Much depends on currents and wind directions. A sail boat does not move into the wind...
We are looking forward to sail again, hopefully we have good winds in a couple of weeks.

I finished a special photobook, about our travels 10 years JoHo's travel from 2001 to 2011.
Curious ? Then click the link.
And iIf you're interested in sailing the BAHAMAS, BERMUDA, MALDIVES, BONAIRE, or SURINAME have a look at our books at SAILADVENTURES where the books are available online.
You can always mail us for more info on these cruising grounds or cruising in general, we'll gladly help you out.

Plans

Sailing the Caribbean and meanwhile JoHo will be our main address away from our main address, our floating office and home for the remainder of this year.
H
ave some assignments in between where and when possible, we may also compile a few cruising guides on our way.
We'll see, life's too complicated to plan anyways. Live life and plan the rest is what we say.
